My preference these days goes towards vegetarian or vegan burgers. Still I can see that some flexitarians and meat reducers will like having the option. I did not try these flexitarian burgers and to be completely honest I am a bit confused by the concept of mixing meat and vegetables together. Reflex – upgrade with more decadent toppings red pepper ketchup, tomato, red onion, kale, roasted garlic & rosemary mayonnaise Still I could not fault it on the taste with a yummy combo of veggie bean patty, pulled BBQ jackfruit, homemade guacamole, baby spinach, lime-dressed rainbow slaw and coriander.įor those who want to eat less meat while still enjoying juicy burger cravings, Byron now offers two burgers that blend 70% British beef with 30% juicy, sautéed mushrooms.Ĭlassic Flex – patty made from 30% sautéed mushrooms and 70% carefully sourced British beef, lettuce, tomato, red onion, mayonnaise This Jack Stack burger like the Beetnik above is a bit too soft for my liking (hence the 4 stars instead of 5). Big thumbs up! Jack Stack Burger – Rating:★★★★✰ The smoked cheese and BBQ sauce are both very flavoursome without being overpowering. I was not expecting to like the Cheese Melt Burger. ** VEGETARIAN ** Cheese Melt Burger – Rating:★★★★★īeer battered smoked cheese, shredded iceberg, mustard mayonnaise, pickled red onion, pickles, BBQ sauce. The condiments worked well especially the red pepper ketchup (made in house) which is absolutely delish. Personally I like my veggie burger with a bit more of a bite but aside from this, it was really tasty. ** VEGAN ** Beetnik – Rating:★★★ ✰✰īyron’s first ever vegan burger, the Beetnik, comprises of a beautifully flavoursome beetroot falafel patty, freshly made to Byron’s own recipe and topped with baby kale, smashed avocado, tomato, pickled red onions, red pepper ketchup and a lime-dressed rainbow slaw. We feasted on vegetarian and vegan burgers alongside Jackfruit Nachos, Loaded Vegan Fries, Halloumi Fries and Salad. Last week I headed to Byron’s Covent Garden for a preview of the new meat free menu.
